What do you do with an old king? Reggie Leroy made a fortune in the rubber stamp industry. But now he's old, and he's fading fast. And his three daughters have to make a decision. Sell the family home? Or do as the old man says? What do we really owe our parents? What do we really owe our children? What if your old man's been a real son-of-a-bitch all his life? What if it's all a scam? Three sisters wrestle with the problems we may all have to confront sooner or later in this hilarious new comedy from Berkeley's very own new play factory: CENTRAL WORKS.

"A sharp, dark comedy played with incisive intensity this is a first rate effort to tackle a sensitive, all too common and draining family issue, albeit in an offbeat way. "
--Jack Tucker, West County Times

" This is a well conceived and well written play...the greatest strength of the production is the actresses, these women are too damn funny"
--Lisa Drostova, East Bay Express

"There have been many imaginative spins on Shakespeare's 'King Lear,' but local playwright Gary Graves definitely has a new one in this world premiere. The tragedy of Lear becomes a merry catastrophe of contemporary dysfunction here."
--Dennis Harvey, AOL, digitalcity.com

"Berkeley's Central Works, not in its twelfth season, has a motto: "We make plays." And they do! Writer Gary Graves and director Jan Zvaifler somehow manage to find humor in the often painful issue of children having to care for their ailing parents...The snappy production is given a huge assist from Chad Owen's attractive set. The dank basement better known as La Val's Subterranean Theatre in Berkeley has rarely looked so good."
--Chad Jones, The Oakland Tribune
